Project Year : 2018
My graduation thesis project is located in the urban fabric of Delhi near Dilshad garden metro station. the area is Sundar Nagari slum. The proposal for redevelopment addresses the issue of poverty, density, and hygiene.
The concept is to create an additional working area within the unit which comprises informal jobs such as tailoring, chips, packing, vegetable vendor, paper bags, pottery selling. The project explores the relationship between upper to lower floor connections, double-height working areas, and community greens.
The site plan gives us different types of courtyard which breaks the monotony and brings in different winter and summer spaces. Each g+4 block has its staircase in which the minimum dwelling size is 30mt.sq. and the maximum is 42 mt.sq.
